Hubei Changyao New Materials Co., Ltd. is a mixed-ownership national high-tech enterprise integrating the R&D, manufacturing, sales, construction and technical consulting services of solid waste new materials and new building materials. It serves as Vice Chairman Unit of the Council of China Concrete & Cement-based Products Association (CCPA), Chairman Unit of Hubei Phosphogypsum Comprehensive Utilization Industry Association, Rotating Chairman Unit of Electric Pole Branch of China Concrete and Cement Products Association, and Vice Chairman Unit of Hubei Building Materials Federation.

Currently, the company runs one R&D center, ten production bases, one architectural greening engineering enterprise and one equipment manufacturing enterprise. Evolving from a single electric pole manufacturer, it has developed nearly 100 product series across 8 categories covering green solid waste utilization products, municipal engineering products and electrical engineering products. These products are widely applied in power, railway, communication, environmental protection, municipal and water conservancy sectors. Its sales network covers more than 100 counties and cities nationwide, and it maintains stable cooperative ties with well-known clients such as China Three Gorges Corporation and State Grid Corporation of China.

To scale up R&D investment in phosphogypsum comprehensive utilization, the company has introduced China Three Gorges Corporation, Yichang State-owned Investment Fund and Yangtze Industry Group as strategic shareholders. After over a decade of dedicated research and development with hundreds of millions of RMB invested, the company has collaborated with universities and research institutes including Wuhan University of Technology, Shandong University, China Three Gorges University and Suzhou Concrete and Cement Products Research Institute. It has successfully compounded phosphogypsum with other industrial solid wastes such as slag and steel slag to develop a high-strength new hydraulic binder material, based on which phosphogypsum lightweight aggregate is produced. Capable of replacing traditional natural sand and stone in production, this technology features strong adaptability, favorable economic benefits and large-scale phosphogypsum consumption capacity.

This technology has secured 2 international invention patents and multiple awards, including the First Prize of Science and Technology Award issued by China Building Materials Circulation Association (2024) and the First Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of China Concrete and Cement Products Association (2026). The company holds more than 200 domestic and international patents. It took the lead in formulating the national standard Phosphogypsum Lightweight Aggregate, and has led or participated in revising over 20 national, industrial and local standards, such as Circular Concrete Poles, Precast Concrete Box Culverts, Gypsum Slag Cement, and Technical Specification for Phosphogypsum-Slag Cement-based Materials for Stabilization of Highway Pavement Base.

Leveraging its client resources and brand advantages, the company extends its industrial chain focusing on new material application, prefabricated construction and sponge city products. It gives full play to technological innovation strengths, optimizes product design, upgrades production processes, and continuously develops innovative products including phosphogypsum solid waste utilization materials, precast utility tunnels, precast pipe trenches, power box culverts and new integrated electric poles. Four phosphogypsum comprehensive utilization projects have been launched, namely the Changyao New Materials Solidifying Agent Project, Hubei Linong Project, Changtou Xingyao Project, etc. Nearly 200 demonstration projects and promotion tests have been completed with high quality.
